Getting a web site up and running requires a few things to happen. In the simplest sense, one would first need a domain name (i.e your web site's name such as "yahoo.com"). Along with the name you need to 'host' your site on a server (a computer running a server software). Of course you'd need to design and develop your site (and upload to the server). If desired you could incorporate e-commerce capability (shopping cart, payment processing etc.).
